Noel Gallagher of Oasis and The High Flying Birds spoke openly about Guns N Roses and having a band from the United States as a headliner for the famous Pyramid Stage of Glastonbury which a British band normally closes the show.

Noel Gallagher, one of the two brothers who made history with Oasis, was very upset when he found out the headliner for the second day of the Glastonbury Festival which takes place every year in five days at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.

Gallagher was questioned by NME regarding Guns N' Roses being in charge of closing the second day of the event, and like a champagne supernova, he gave an explosive opinion: " I thought, 'What? Are you being serious? That's crazy shit' When you think of all the huge British artists who've had albums out this past year, having Guns N' Roses headlining the Saturday is mad." he said emphatically.

Only Men controversy

These statements add to the gender-based controversy that sparked ever since the 2023 lineup and the all-male headliners, including Guns N Roses, were announced. The other two are British, on the one hand, the Artic Monkeys, for Friday, and on the other, Elton John for Sunday.

The honor of the hosts

As a Glastonbury tradition, the headliners for the famous pyramid stage must be British and until now the tradition had been embraced which is why Gallagher now that he is absent from the event after having been there last year with his band High Flying Birds, he mentioned that it would have been a good idea to play the festival this year "I would have been smart to play Glastonbury this year, but I played it last year because I'd been booked to do it in 2020 and everything got pushed back"

No news still about whether he will join his brother Liam for an Oasis revival, after having promised to do so if Manchester City became champions of the UEFA Champions League.
