Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen, who finalized their divorce late last year, were building a marital home in Florida. The retired NFL quarterback finally canceled construction plans and is now working on a $35 million bachelor pad, according to the New York Post.
Brady, 45, purchased the exclusive Indian Creek Island property for $17 million in 2020 with his ex-wife. The family home was set to include an organic and meditation garden, a yoga terrace, an outdoor kitchen, a pickleball court and much more.
Bundchen, 42, was clearly in charge of the design, which will now be a "new two story single single family residence with a security building, gym, cabana, pool, sport court, emergency, landscaping, septic system," per the New York Post.
Brady was awarded the Indian Creek Island property during the divorce settlement in October. Construction was halted amid their dispute, but he has now finally paid off workers for labor and materials, while starting a new project.
The family home was going to be 17,000 square feet, but Brady's man cave is expected to span over 20,200 square feet.
Tom Brady asks for loan
Brady is worth an estimated $512 million, but even he has to ask the bank for a loan to build his home.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion took out a $35 million construction loan with an 8.25 percent annual interest rate.
Canceling what would have been their family home is proof Brady is ready to move on with his future.
Brady and Bundchen, however, still have to co-parent. In fact, she bought an $11.5 million property in October across the water from Brady's construction project, so they'll be neighbors.
