Fruit smoothie enthusiasts, take note: Sunrise Growers has issued a recall for frozen fruit products sold in select stores across the nation due to potential listeria contamination. The recall focuses on frozen pineapple used in these products, and consumers are urged to check their freezers for the affected items.

Listeria is a bacterium that can cause mild symptoms in healthy individuals, but it poses a severe threat to children, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems. The recall comes as a precautionary measure, and fortunately, no illnesses have been reported so far.

The affected products were distributed to several major retailers, including Walmart, Aldi, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Target. Many of these products were sold under the stores' private label brands. The distribution occurred between fall 2022 and the present week.

If you have purchased any of the recalled products, the FDA advises against using them. It is recommended to either dispose of the items or return them to the store for a full refund. The products were available at Walmart, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Target, Aldi, and AWG stores.

What products are contaminated and where they've sold?

Here is a breakdown of the affected products and the states where they were sold:
