After the Titan submersible went missing, there was a massive ongoing search that lasted days until it was sadly reported that all five members of the crew passed away. It was later announced that the vessel imploded catastrophically and the entire crew perished instantly early during the search. But director James Cameron is lifting the lid about the authorities knowledge that the implosion took place early one and they still decided to continue with the mock search. James Cameron quickly found out what actually happened and he saw how the media decided to continue with the antics. Instead of quickly informing the public what happened, they made the entire world believe there was hope for the crew members to be rescued alive.

The catch here is that James Cameron also knew what was going on and he decided to remain tight-lipped about what happened. The 'Titanic' director had unique knowledge of the entire case due to his more than 30 trips to the depths where the Titanic's remains are currently sitting. He quickly knew about the risks that the OceanGate vessel was taking and kept on warning them about it. James Cameron was always ignored by the OceanGate CEO and tragedy struck in eerie fashion. But the reason behind Cameron's decision to stay quiet about what happened too remains to be seen. In a normal scenario, he should've come out and told the public that the crew was lost but he decided against that. Both he and the authorities that led the rescue expedition played with the public's feelings. That is a fact.

James Cameron lifts the lid on nightmarish charade of a search

Speaking to BBC, James Cameron said: "The search felt like a prolonged and nightmarish charade where people are running around talking about banging noises and talking about oxygen and all this other stuff. I knew that sub was sitting exactly underneath its last known depth and position. That's exactly where they found it. I felt in my bones what had happened. I immediately got on the phone to some of my contacts in the deep submersible community. Within about an hour I had the following facts. They were on descent. They were at 3500 metres, heading for the bottom at 3800 metres. For the sub's electronics to fail and its communication system to fail, and its tracking transponder to fail simultaneously - sub's gone. We now have another wreck that is based on unfortunately the same principles of not heeding warnings."
