We get that NBA players are going through constant and never-ending temptations amid their celebrity status but they are supposed to be professionals. What sets apart great players like Michael Jordan, LeBron James or the late Kobe Bryant with players like Gilbert Arenas, Ja Morant, and Zion Williamson is their behavior off the court. The greats also know how many temptations they get on a daily basis, they know they have the same schedule party animals have in their respective cities. But that didn't keep them away from reaching their goals as professionals, they remained focused. Gilbert Arenas is trying to justify the sex scandal Zion Williamson is currently going through by pointing the finger at women without putting any responsibility on the young Pelicans player.

The over publicized scandal with former pornstar Moriah Mills has Zion all over the news for the worst possible reasons. But everything that is happening to the young star is his own responsibility due to his own decisions. Gilbert Arenas can't keep justifying people like him or Ja Morant simply due to his own frustrations as a player. Because Gilbert was a trouble maker himself when he played in the league. Laying all responsibility and calling sex workers the 'worst kind of women' is telling of a man who sees these women as objects and nothing more. A misogynistic point of view that sadly prevails amongst pro American athletes who lack the maturity to confront their own mistakes as they should. This is not great optics from Gilbert Arenas, especially if his goal is to send young NBA players a piece of advice.

Arenas and his 'worst type of women' rant

During 'The Pat Bev Pod' with Patrick Beverley, Gilbert Arenas said: "The NBA... you have basically 22 hours every single day trying not to get in trouble. We practice for about and hour, hour and a half, then the next 22 hours until we see you again, try not to get in trouble with all this god damn money and fame you got. We have all the free time while everybody's at work. So if you're not married... think about the other sex that's free between noon and seven o'clock: Strippers, Instagram models that ain't got s-t to do in life. They be like, 'How come y'all ain't meeting a nice lady?' S-t, they're at work when we're out... By the time we meet, we're meeting at the club. Now we really gotta guess which one is which. Other than that, our schedules match up with the worst people, the worst women in life."
