Five passengers have passed away

TikTok video shows what could have happened to Titan submersible

Terrifying TikTok videos have emerged, offering glimpses into the potential catastrophic implosion of the Titan submersible that tragically claimed the lives of five passengers in the treacherous depths of the North Atlantic.

Using animation and visual effects, TikTok creators have attempted to recreate the harrowing event. In one gripping clip shared by user @sincerelybootz, a military-like submarine undergoes a sudden collapse, twisting into a taco-shaped piece of metal before violently tearing apart.

The video depicts the instantaneous and devastating nature of the implosion, leaving only air bubbles and debris in its wake.

Another video, posted by user @starfieldstudio, portrays the OceanGate Titan hurtling toward the seafloor before disintegrating like a crushed tin can.

"The hull would immediately heat the air in the sub to around the surface of the sun's temperature, as a wall of metal and seawater smashed one end of the boat to the other, all in around 30 milliseconds," the caption reads.

The US Coast Guard announced on Thursday that the passengers aboard the Titan met an instant demise due to the implosion as they descended into the dark depths to explore the remnants of the Titanic, which sank 111 years ago.

Debris discovered approximately 12,500 feet below the ocean surface near the RMS Titanic is consistent with the catastrophic failure of the pressure chamber. The weight of the ocean likely crushed the chamber after the Titan lost contact with its surface vessel on Sunday.

The individuals lost in the submersible were British billionaire explorer Hamish Harding, French Titanic expert Paul-Henri Nargeolet, OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, and businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Sulaiman. The search for the ship's hull is ongoing, and the recovered debris provides crucial insights into the catastrophic event.
